Kaabil

Rohan is a gentle, joyful young guy who has been blind since birth and makes a career as a voice-over artist. He meets Supriya, a working lady who is also blind but fiercely independent, through friends. They begin to like each other and eventually marry.

On their way home from a restaurant one night, they are harassed by Amit Shellar, a local goon and the younger brother of Madhavrao Shellar, a well-known politician. He and his friend Wasim misbehave with the couple, which enrages Rohan and leads to a heated exchange.

Amit and Wasim break into the house the next morning while Rohan is at work and violently rape Supriya. A terrified Rohan immediately phones the police, and Officer Chaubey urges him to get his wife evaluated by a doctor within 24 hours to establish the attack. Shellar's men abduct Rohan and Supriya on their way to the clinic and hold them hostage for 36 hours. After being released, police scold Rohan and Supriya for the delay in getting Supriya professionally checked, and both are accused of lying. They come home, despondent, deceived by the cops, and helpless. Supriya tries desperately to make things regular for Rohan and her, but to her dismay, Rohan becomes silent.
