A mild-mannered accountant is drawn into the world of international espionage after reconnecting with an awkward high school pal via Facebook.

Calvin Joyner was chosen the most likely to succeed in high school. He's an accountant now, after 20 years. As his high school reunion approaches, he attempts to contact former classmates. And then a man named Bob Stone contacts him. In school, he was known as Robbie Weirdicht, he claims. Calvin recalls being bullied and even leaving school after one especially heinous prank. Calvin agrees to meet, and he is startled at how much he has changed. Calvin agrees to assist Bob. He says yes, and the next thing he knows, men storm into his house.

They're CIA, and the person in charge is hunting for Stone, whom she describes as a renegade agent. They depart when they can't find Bob. Later, he approaches Calvin and informs him that he is not a rogue agent, but is looking for a person known as the Black Badger who is planning to sell some information that could be disastrous in the wrong hands. So he needs Calvin's assistance to stop him. Calvin isn't sure who to believe.

Calvin Joyner, a renowned athlete, is recognized at his high school in 1996. Calvin is married and works as a forensic accountant twenty years later, but he is unhappy with his job. Calvin receives a Facebook friend request at work from a man named Bob Stone, who asks Calvin out to meet. Calvin sets out to see Bob Stone, who turns out to be his classmate Robbie Wierdicht. Calvin is astounded to observe Wierdicht's transformation from an obese man to a strong, confident man. Then Stone wants Calvin to go through some unusual accounting documents.
