Synopsis

Teddy Jackson (Kevin Hart) begins the film by attempting to shoot a video promoting his fitness efforts. Elastic bands, a sweatsuit, and his effort at non-contact boxing are all failures.

An assassin known only as "The Man From Toronto" (Woody Harrelson) comes at a cabin in the desert to question a suspect. Toronto prepares to slice a hot knife into the suspect, but the man becomes afraid and quickly gives over the information he seeks. The culprit is shot and murdered by the man who contacted Toronto after Toronto has left.

Teddy is preparing to celebrate his wedding anniversary with his wife Lori (Jasmine Mathews). Lori loves Teddy, but she is aware of his reputation as a jerk, to the point where her coworkers refer to a mistake as "Teddying things up." He arranges a romantic retreat at an AirBNB, but Teddy is unable to see the location due to a "low toner condition."

Teddy arrives at work and talks with his employer Marty (Martin Roach), who is irritated with Teddy because he produced posters for their gym without an address or phone number. While Marty likes Teddy, he is forced to fire him.

When his Handler contacts Toronto, he returns home and begins preparing his breakfast. Despite Toronto's desire to relax, The Handler informs him that the next contract he has lined up is worth $2 million.
